Pride season – joy, hope, remembering

“We must also pause to remember the Pulse massacre that violently took 49 lives two years ago on June 12," said Amanda Arbor, executive director, LGBT Center of Central PA, as part of an honor of Pride Month in June, and Lancaster Pride on June 24, followed by Central PA Pride Festival on July 28, and York Equality Festival August 5.

“Most of them were queer Latinx people, and what had been a safe space was forever violated," Arbor added. "So we pause, we remember, we say their names, and we continue to work to create safe spaces for our communities to be who we are. We take care of each other, and yes, we celebrate Pride - because the love, strength and resilience of our communities will always be stronger than hate.”
