State Rep. Patty Kim, D-Dauphin, and Health and Human Services Secretary Theresa Miller last week met to talk with business owners and their employees about wages in Pennsylvania.
According to a news statement released by Kim and Miller, “a common but debunked argument against raising the minimum wage is that it would hurt small, local businesses.”
The two public officials wanted to discuss how local business owners can pay employees above the minimum wage and remain strong in the local economy.
The meeting was held at t Harrisburg’s Elementary Coffee Co. The local business reportedly pays its workers above the current minimum wage of $7.25 per hour.
