First ever Pride event in Carlisle

For the first time ever, Carlisle celebrated Pride Week with nine days of events, June 22-30.

Carlisle Pride's events celebrated and educated people on the LGBTQ community during Pride Month.

According to LGBTQ activist Chris Kapp, the events took place all over town and brought awareness, visibility, inclusion and color to the streets of Carlisle.

Events kicked off on June 22 with a showing of Before Stonewall at the Carlisle Theatre.

On June 23, people gathered on the steps of the Borough Hall for Carlisle's first-ever Pride Rally. After the rally, people were invited to "walk, march, dance, sashay, or otherwise" to get themselves to Ruth's Time Bomb for a Community Pride Potluck.
